On a remote island, the exiled Prospera commands the spirits and elements that surround her. When the enemies who once stole her power are carried to her shores by a violent storm, long-buried grievances surface and the island becomes a place where justice, mercy, and transformation collide.

Artistic Director Blake Ellis helms this bold new production, starring Broadway veteran Jacqueline Antaramian as Prospera. At the heart of this production is an extraordinary partnership with the Fresno Philharmonic, bringing professional musicians onstage to perform an original score by London-based composing team TwoTwentyTwo. Their music moves through the play like the island’s magic itself, shaping the atmosphere and drawing the audience deeper into the world of the story.

The production also features the imaginative design work of Dan Aldape and WOW Productions (lighting and sound), as well as Joel Abels (scenic design) whose collective vision promises to highlight the beauty, mystery, and wonder of Shakespeare’s enchanted island. Together, these collaborations create a theatrical experience unlike anything the Valley has seen, where live music, striking design, and Shakespeare’s language come together to bring The Tempest vividly to life.
This production was funded in part by the City of Fresno Measure P Expanded Access to Arts and Culture Fund.
In association with Arts Enrichment For All.
